EXPEDITION NOTES: Askefast Takes the Stage

On August 28, we’re turning up the volume at Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri as the Norwegian folk-rock duo 𝐀𝐒𝐊𝐄𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓 takes over the floor.

▸ Brothers Håkon and Hallvard Høiberg ✭
have been playing together since childhood (you might know them from Dim Gray or De Ubrukelige), and they live exactly in that perfect spot between acoustic intimacy and up-tempo, electric energy.

Their guitar-driven setlist spans from the 1950s to today, but it’s their arrangements that make the night. One moment you’re tapping your foot to a traditional Irish reel like Drowsy Maggie, the next you’re experiencing a surprisingly brilliant folk rendition of Muse’s Hysteria or The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights. If you ever end up Stuck in the Middle With You at the bar, at least the soundtrack will be flawless.
